At Donnybrook Primary School we acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners of the lands and waterways upon which our school and suburb stand.
We recognise the deep and enduring spiritual connection and relationship of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people to these lands and waterways. We thank them for caring for Country for thousands of generations. We recognise their culture as the oldest continuous living culture in human history.
We pay respect to Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elders, past and present, and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We acknowledge that Sovereignty has never been ceded. We learn, and work on what always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
At Donnybrook Primary School we find the courage to promote anti-racism. We work to dismantle systems and structures of oppression. We know that every day we must address systemic power imbalances and work in fair and equal partnership with Indigenous people, communities and organisations.
